Indoors of the Main House
From the front door, you step directly into the large living room with high ceilings and spectacular panoramic views through the large windows. The living room has both a sofa and a dining table for all the family, a fireplace, and a 50" smart TV. To the left, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with everything from a stove with an oven to a large refrigerator with a freezer—and of course, a dishwasher. From the living room, you can step directly onto the balcony, where time seems to stand still as you enjoy the view over the sea, the small coastal towns, and all the activity down at Kalami Beach.
On the opposite side of the living room, you can enter the large bedroom with two beds, which can also be combined into a double bed upon request (specified when booking). From the bedroom, you can go directly out to the cozy east-facing terrace and the fascinating south-facing balcony. The large glass door allows you to wake up to the most breathtaking view. Next to the bedroom, you’ll find a lovely bathroom with a shower, as well as a washing machine and dryer.
From the living room, you can take the stairs to the upper floor, which features a charming bedroom with a double bed and a private bathroom with a shower. Directly from the bed, you can look out over the Ionian Sea to the lights of Corfu Town, or enjoy stargazing through the skylight above the bed. Both bedrooms are equipped with a smart TV.
The Studio Apartment
Downstairs you will find the Studio Apartment, allowing for different sleeping options, being it a separate bedroom for a teenager or a private space for a couple travelling along. The apartment is not visible from the main house or the pool area. If you walk down one of the stone staircases to the valley side of the house, you will discover the most beautiful stone terrace with a wonderful view. From here, there is a separate entrance to the compact yet charming apartment. There is no indoor access between the apartment and the main house.
The apartment has everything a couple or the family's teenager might need: A king-size double bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette. One wall is like a large window, allowing you to wake up to the most magnificent view of the Ionian Sea, directly from the bed. Let us know if you would like a Smart TV in the apartment.
The terrace in front of the apartment is a fantastic place to relax with a loved one, a good drink, and the world's best view.
The Outdoors
There is something for everyone in Rizes' outdoor areas—not just in and around the pool.
Dine "Al Fresco" under the half-roof, where there’s room for the whole family around the large plank table—right next to the open grill, where food can be cooked over wood or charcoal. The outdoor kitchen makes the grilling experience easy and enjoyable. Whether you’re enjoying a drink and a lovely meal or flipping steaks on the grill, you can always take in the magical view from Rizes.
The terrace on the opposite side of the house offers a spectacular view for early risers when the morning sun rises over the Albanian mountains, spreading its shimmering colors across the Ionian Sea. In the afternoon, there's refreshing shade and cozy seating for everyone.
All day long, you have an impressive balcony running the entire length of the house, where you can watch life on the sea and in the small towns further down the mountain. Or simply enjoy a refreshment as the tranquility of Corfu takes root within you.
Downstairs, in front of the Studio Apartment, you can enjoy a spacious, stone-paved terrace with partial shade from olive trees and the most incredible view.
The Pool
There is nothing as delightful as standing in our infinity pool, by the edge, looking down over the mountain, down to the beach and harbor, out over the sea, all the way to Albania. There’s always plenty to see. The pool is surrounded by a lovely lounge area with sun loungers and parasols. Adjoining the area is the beautiful, covered terrace with an outdoor kitchen and open grill.
The pool is great for cooling off and relaxing. But it's also large enough for plenty of water fun. It measures 6.5 x 4 meters and is up to 145 cm deep.
The pool technician visits a couple of times a week to ensure a high level of hygiene and a clean, beautiful pool for you to enjoy.
The Property
The house is situated on a large site, which is rich in old and sculptural olive trees.
While you can feel free to visit the garden, we request you to respect all the trees and other plants, you will find there. Everything there is precious, and most of the trees are hundreds of years old.
At times of the year, grass and weed are tall, as everything is maintained via annual routines. On a sidenote, please use high boots if going into high grass - snakes might be around there. They like the high grass.
The cat Rico
If you are lucky enough to meet the cat Rico, you will quickly discover that he is the king of the property. Give him some respect, and he will repay you with plenty of affection. If you really want to bond with him, the key is to find the bag of cat food under the outdoor sink and give him a small portion in the cat bowl by the outdoor grill.
We prefer not to have the cat or any other animals inside the house – other guests may be allergic. Please support our efforts to convince Rico that the outdoor areas are best for him. He knows this, but sometimes he needs a gentle reminder. When it comes to boundaries, his memory can be selective.
